Flash poetry on Scart 69
I like the potential of Flash poetry. Obviously so do Sara Moss and Shane Carter who can be found on Scart69.net collaborating on a work called my beat. It's a nice looking piece, dropping a nod to Ginsberg's Howl, but I wonder if just squiggling text is enough. After a few runs, it goes flat. I did a Flash remix of Ginsberg's Hum bom! once (must try and dig it out), but I eventually tired of it as well - perhaps because my mind prefers to separate the text from the rest of the work, even thought strictly speaking that isn't possible and in effect is a translation. But maybe, in a sense, all poetry is translated by the mind? Judge for yourself.
