Secret sign language of the poets.

It is widely thought that Irish druids and filí (i.e. poets) used an oghamic finger/hand sign language to communicate with one another secretly. In the Book of Ballymote we are told they could also use leg-ogham or cossagam (cos-ogham). Another system used may have been nose-ogham or sron-ogham, in which the nose is used in much the same way. Read about it here.
