Leonard Cohen's Dear Heather

Leonard Cohen's Dear Heather contains a villanelle of the same name, set to music. It's quite beautiful, but there's something unCohen about it. Turns out the verse is actually by F.R. Scott, and the music and composition is Cohen's. Nothing wrong with that of course, but if you love the villanelle, then you might want to read a little more of Scott. If so then turn here. The satirical W.M.L.K is well worth a read, as is The Canadian Authors Meet:
The cakes are sweet, but sweeter is the feeling
That one is mixing with the literati;
It warms the old, and melts the most congealing.
Really, it is a most delightful party.
