Poetry of Mary Wilson
So what does a former prime minister's wife get to write about when composing poetry, that mere mortals don't? Well, in the case of Harold Wilson's wife Mary, about the time she had the conversation with the Lunarnaut (Armstrong?) for starters:
'What did the earth look like', I asked him
'As you stood there on the moon?'
'Bright,' he said, 'Fantastically bright,
Brighter that any moonlit night-
A shining orb of dazzling light.
